Elk Grove firefighters placed 343 flags outside their station, #74 on Laguna Park Drive, to commemorate the lives of fellow firefighters who died in the September 11, 2002 World Trade Center attacks. Local residents were encouraged to come by the station and take the flags for free. A trio of joggers stopped and took a couple of flags and then continued on their early morning way, Saturday, September 11, 2004.
