The Amtrak Floridian passenger train that operated between Chicago, Illinois and Miami, Florida ceased operation in 1979. It was the last passenger train that serviced Louisville. Kentucky as well. These photographs document the final days for the workers in the Chicago Yards, the Amtrak employees aboard the train, an engineer,, W.C. Roddy, that drove the train between Louisville and Bowling Green, KY and the passengers who enjoyed riding the rails.

Pictured: Track repair in central Kentucky delays the Floridian passenger train. Once the freight train passed, the Floridian continued on but two hours behind schedule.
